Ghost Booking as a New Philanthropy Channel: A Case Study on Ukraine-Russia Conflict
The paper analyzes 209K guest reviews from 16K Ukrainian Airbnb listings to identify ghost booking donations via LDA topic shifts and shows through negative-binomial regression that Superhost status and donation solicitation in listing titles most strongly drive this bottom-up philanthropy.
